Fishers, IN: When FairWinds Advisors opened its doors last year, owners Jay Walters and Jenny Massey started with the conviction that their firm would fill a special niche as a boutique economic development consulting firm providing expert services to growing or relocating companies nationwide. Specifically, FairWinds has been very successful in site selection, incentive negotiation and compliance matters.
Walters and Massey have more than 40 years of experience working for other companies before striking out on their own last year. Jan. 11 marks a strong year for their company, which completed 27 successful national development projects and has many more underway.
In late December, Governor Mike Pence made a major jobs announcement commending
several economic development projects, including two FairWinds clients: Perceivant and Gruuv Technologies.
Projects like these, including a $12.5 million relocation and expansion project for Wayzata Home Products in Connersville, Ind., yield significant benefits for the client companies as well as the communities that welcome them.
“We take a personalized approach, focusing on a long-term relationship. We view each project as an opportunity to make a positive difference to both our client and the community they select,” CEO Jay Walters said.
Public announcements do not mark the end of FairWinds’ involvement with the projects; FairWinds continues to assist with compliance and advice for the life of the project- in some cases, 10-20 years after the announcement.
