INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis-based Innovatemap has announced plans for further growth in central Indiana. The digital product agency says it will invest nearly $1 million to renovate and equip its headquarters in the Broad Ripple neighborhood and create up to 15 jobs by the end of 2023. Chief Executive Officer Mike Reynolds says Innovatemap has seen a rapid increase in demand and the company’s commitment to Indianapolis is a key part of that growth.

In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Reynolds said the last several months have been a “digital wake up call” for companies, which has led to the rise in demand.

“There’s been an appetite for the services and offerings that we provide and we’re pretty excited to respond to that and to maintain the quality of our work for our clients is going to require team growth,” said Reynolds. “We did introduce in the last year the first foray in a regional chapter of Innovatemap as we opened a New York office. That is an exciting growth opportunity, but it should not be confused with our primary location of growth, which is here in Indianapolis.”

The company, which provides product management, marketing, design and branding services for Software-as-a-Service companies, currently employs 27 people in Indiana and two at its recently-opened office in New York City.

Reynolds says Innovatemap, like many other businesses, felt the initial effects of the pandemic and pivoted in response by getting its name out on a more national level to attract more potential clients.

“What we started to see in the fourth quarter was a client base that reflected that more national level. So, at this point, we are servicing nationwide…and that is a grander market than we have served before. And so, in a very managed way, we’ll grow the agency and the quality and caliber of our people and the quality and caliber of our outputs and outcomes are at the utmost importance to us.”

Innovatemap says the upgraded Indy office will house its core business operations and client delivery services, while allowing for a hybrid of in-person and remote work for employees. The company is currently hiring for a variety of positions, including product managers, product marketers and brand designers.

Reynolds says the search for talent to fill the new jobs will be a deliberate process.

“We’re going to come forth very authentically with who we are and if this is a place you might want to be and you’re fit for what we do and the excellence that our clients are expecting from the Innovatemap team members, that might be a fit,” said Reynolds. “We don’t simply rely on just posting a role. We really try to be very intentional about always kind of grooming a pool of experts that maybe one day are a fit for our company and then should the business need matches their desire to come on board, we’re going to make that happen.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Innovatemap up to $300,000 in conditional tax credits and training grants, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs.
