Vincennes, IN: Turkey processor Farbest Foods has broken ground on a $70 million plant in southeastern Indiana. Gov. Mitch Daniels joined Farbest President Ted Seger for the groundbreaking. The governor announced in December that Farbest Foods would invest nearly $70 million in a new processing plant in Vincennes. The company already operates two facilities in Huntingburg and Dubois; they are at capacity.
Farbest plans to begin hiring next year. FairWinds Advisors negotiated on behalf of Farbest $3.8 million in conditional tax credits and $200,000 in grants for job training as well as federal tax credits of $1.5 million. Personal and real property tax abatements were also offered.
